InfoSec Articles for MG Magazine

During employment at Madison Gurkha, Netherlingua wrote two articles aimed at the Information Security crowd in the Netherlands. The Update, a corporate magazine of Madison Gurkha, is released every three months, and accounts for over 2000 copies.

The first article is about Password Policies. Many organizations struggle with employees, and even IT professionals, who use weak passwords to access their online accounts. The use of weak passwords is one of the most common attack vectors for hackers to compromise networks. This article explains to users the dangers of weak passwords and gives five best practices to enforce strong password policies (p. 18).

The second article is about Cross-site Scripting Attacks. Though already known for over a decade, the cross-site scripting vulnerability is still very much present and is actively being exploited in the wild. This article contains examples of practical exploitations and shows both users and developers best practices to mitigate the threat (p. 12).
